Psychological contract breach and opportunism in the sharing economy: Examining the platform-provider relationship

In the sharing economy market, B2B relationships between service providers and platforms are largely built on platforms' promise of ensuring a successful experience, which is not always delivered. Moreover, have opportunity to take advantage their dominant positions in market. Building these notions, this study set out examine determinants individual providers' relationship with platform using theory. The was conducted UK sample 252 Airbnb hosts who were recruited through an online consumer panel. results show that important construct within increases feelings violation reduces trust. Furthermore, perceived found be negatively related violation.
